 "Dig In" Garden Festival

Less than a month until our Summer Market Season kicks off at the East Vancouver Farmers Market - May 19. Download a list of vendors who'll be there opening day.
Enjoy everything green and garden-y at our "Dig In" Garden Festival too - activities for kids, loads of plants and veggie starters for your home gardening initiatives as well as community gardening information.
Plan to stay a while too - for lunch check out Creperie La Boheme for sweet and savoury crepes and Go Go Java can feed your need for coffee or tea.

Long Awaited Kitsilano Market in the Works
 For those of you who make the weekly trek across town from your homes on the West Side to our East Vancouver or Riley Park Markets, there will soon be a much closer-to-home option.
We are currently planning for a Sunday Farmers Market in Kitsilano to open July 15 for a 14 week trial. Our location? That's the part we're not 100% certain of but we'd sure like to be at the Kitsilano Community Centre in the parking lot beside the ice rink.
There are lots of great reasons to support a market in your neighbourhood:
* the opportunity to walk or ride to the market - saving fuel and money by cutting out the need to drive
* keep farmers farming - many of our vendors including food preparers and artisans depend on these kinds of markets for their livelihood - this new market means a new opportunity for our roster of over
* meet your neighbours! Markets bring community members together in a fun, family-friendly environment
* learn about what's going on in your neighbourhood - visit with local community groups and learn about the good work they are doing
* source the best, freshest and tastiest local food around!
