2011 PNE Agricultural Producers Competition

Update: August 15, 2011

Winners have been announced. Please see the panel to the left for winners in all categories.

Many thanks to our judging panel, our MC, Phil Solman from Edible Vancouver and our partners at Les Amis Du Fromage and the PNE for their help putting on a great competition. Judges were wowed by the variety of entries and the quality of artisan food coming from home kitchens across the city. We had 40 entries across all categories and are looking toward 2012 already for an even larger, more diverse competition.

Congratulations to the winners and look for their prize-winning preserves and cheese on display at the PNE, August 20 - September 5th.

Is your salsa recipe the stuff of legends? Does your jam have its own page on Facebook? Its time to get your props and enter the upcoming PNE Jam and Salsa Competition sponsored by Vancouver Farmers Markets and the PNE. RULES

Preserves entered for competition must be shipped (charges prepaid) or delivered to: Agriculture Entry Office, Pacific National Exhibition, 2901 E Hastings Street, Vancouver, V5K 5J1 by 4:00pm on August 9, 2011

The judging will take place on Wednesday August 10, 2011 at the Vancouver Farmers Market – Main St. Station.

The prize winning entries from each class will be on display throughout the duration of the Pacific National Exhibition. Exhibitors with prize winning entries will be notified by phone.

The overall champion and overall reserve champion entries from classes 5030 and 5060 will be auctioned by silent or live auction during the PNE at the Agriculture Auction. Proceeds of the Agriculture Auction will be donated to the BC Youth In Agriculture Foundation.jams

Participants may submit one entry per category only.

All entries must be shelf-stable (i.e. canned)
