Modo (http://www.modo.coop) is a carsharing organization. We provide affordable carsharing to Metro Vancouver residents – including market vendors – in their own neighbourhoods and building a region with more sustainable transportation options. As a not-for-profit, member-owned co-op, our business decisions are based on environmental, social, and economic factors. Transit-oriented carsharing removes up to 30 vehicles from the road; by removing cars, Modo members reduce congestion and greenhouse gas emissions. Modo is Vancouver’s only truly local carshare. We were founded in 1997 in the heart of the West End – and we still operate in downtown Vancouver. We work with local suppliers and service providers as much as possible and are members of LOCO BC, an organization that supports and advocates for local businesses. We’re proud to sponsor the Vancouver Farmers Markets because we also believe in the vision of a strong local economy the Market supports. We’re excited we can help the Market grow this vision! |
