While 90-100,000 family farms across Canada have a lead farmer that is 5-10 years away from retirement, less than 4% have a succession plan for their business. Meanwhile, hundreds and hundreds of young men and women would love nothing more than to be part of this industry. John Anderson understands the issues of succession and offers practical strategies on how existing and new farmers can form working partnerships. Chris Bodnar will share his experience as a new grower who left academia for life on an established organic cooperative farm.
